An index of Brickfield workers and owners gathered from census, local histories and directories. Mainly collected from the South East of England, but with some entries from other areas such as Scotland and Northern Ireland. The British Brick Society was founded in 1972 to promote the study and recording of all aspects of the archaeology and history of bricks, brickmaking and brickwork.

 The Brickmakers Index - Database Information.           

The database is run on the computer 'ACCESS' software programme. To give an idea of the database the following refers to the information available. The database is not available to the general public.
